Dear Corporate Members,

My greetings to all !

I am very happy to connect with you once again through this News Bulletin.

The Tamil Nadu State Centre of the Institution of Engineers (India) organised the Royal Charter Day on 9 th September 2025 at 7.00 p.m. through an online Zoom meeting. Dr. E. Bhaskaran, Joint Director (Engineering) / General Manager, Department of Industries and Commerce, MSME Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, was the Chief Guest. He delivered an insightful lecture on the topic “10 Steps to Become a Startup”.

It gives me immense pleasure to share that the 58th Engineers’ Day was celebrated by the Institution of Engineers (India), Tamil Nadu State Centre, on 28 th September 2025 at Hotel Savera, Chennai.

During the celebration, the Sri Valliappa Eminent Engineer Award for Best Practicing Engineer in Tamil Nadu and Sri Valliappa Young Scientist Award were presented to honour outstanding contributions to engineering practice and research. The committee congratulated Dr. V. Karthikeyan, Chairman, IE(I) TNSC, for his commendable efforts in securing an endowment fund of Rs. 5 lakhs towards the Sri Valliappa Eminent Engineer Awards. I extend my sincere appreciation to all Committee Members, Council Members, and Corporate Members for their continued support and cooperation in making this event a grand success.

I appeal to all Corporate Members to introduce IEI to non-members and encourage them to avail the benefits of membership in our Centenary Year Institution.
